Since its foundation in 1999 at the Institute for Environmental Medicine and Hospital Hygiene at the University Medical Center Freiburg by Prof. Dr. med. Franz Daschner, the German Consulting Center for Infection prevention and Control (BZH) has been a guardian for reliable, goal-directed advice for infection prevention measures, suitable for everyday use.

Our focus is on safe, practice-oriented and individually tailored advice and support for the respective facility. A large number of facilities throughout the German-speaking world rely on BZH's expertise. With numerous regional branch offices, we offer local, efficient support.

With its interdisciplinary team of board certified hospital epidemiologists, microbiologists, clinicians and natural scientists and experienced infection control practitioners, the BZH is one of the largest institutes of its kind in Europe.
